Stainless Steel

Stainless steel, also known as Inox steel is a steel alloy with a minimum of 10.5% to 11% chromium content by mass. It is also called corrosion-resistant steel. Stainless steel differs from carbon steel by the amount of chromium present. Stainless steels contain sufficient chromium to form a passive film of chromium oxide, which prevents further surface corrosion and blocks corrosion from spreading into the metal's internal structure, and due to the similar size of the steel and oxide molecules they bond very strongly and remain attached to the Surface.

Stainless steel's resistance to corrosion and staining, low maintenance and familiar lustre makes it an ideal material for many applications.

Stainless Steel is generally classified as Austenitic, Ferritic, Martensitic, Precipitation - hardening Stainless steel, lean duplex, Standard duplex and super duplex stainless steel.

The following products, grades and specifications are offered by us from ex-stock North America and through our strategic partners in Western Europe.

Stainless steel is primarily used when corrosion or oxidation are a problem. The function that they perform cannot be duplicated by other materials for their cost.
