Incoloy Alloy 825
Common Trade Names: Incoloy 825, Alloy 825, Nickelvac 825, Nicrofer 4241
INCOLOY Alloy 825 is designated as UNS N08825 and Werkstoff Number 2.4858 is a nickel-iron-chromium alloy with additions of molybdenum, copper, and titanium. The nickel content is sufficient for resistance to chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking.
Properties:
- The nickel, in conjunction with the molybdenum and copper, also gives outstanding resistance to reducing environments such as those containing sulfuric and phosphoric acids
- molybdenum content helps with resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion
- chromium content in the alloy confers resistance to a variety of oxidizing substances such as nitric acid, nitrates and oxidizing salt
- titanium addition with an appropriate heat treatment helps stabilize the alloy against sensitization to intergranular corrosion
Typical Applications:
- Process piping, heat exchangers, carburizing equipment, heating-element sheathing, nuclear steam-generator tubing
- Chemical and petrochemical processing, power plants, industrial furnaces, heat-treating equipment
- Pollution-control equipment, oil and gas well piping, nuclear fuel reprocessing, acid production, pickling equipment
Product Forms:
- Sheets, Strips, Plates
- Round Bars, Flat Bars, Hexagon
- Pipes, tubes, fittings and flanges
- Wires
