INCOLOY alloy 800
Common Trade Names: Incoloy 800, Alloy 800, Ferrochronin 800, Nickelvac 800, Nicrofer 3220
INCOLOY alloy 800 designated as UNS N08800, Werkstoff No. 1.4876 is a widely used material for construction of equipment requiring corrosion resistance, heat resistance, strength, and stability for service up to 1500°F (816°C).
Properties:
- general corrosion resistance to many aqueous media
- its nickel content resists stress corrosion cracking
- At elevated temperatures it offers resistance to oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation along with rupture and creep strength especially at temperatures above 1500°F (816°C)
Typical Applications:
- is used for heat exchangers and other piping systems in nitric acid media especially where resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking is required
- nuclear power plants, it is used for steam-generator tubing
- production of paper pulp
- heat exchangers that air cool the process stream
- domestic appliances for sheathing of electric heating elements
- petroleum processing
Product Forms:
- Sheets, Strips, Plates
- Round Bars, Flat Bars, Hexagon
- Pipes, tubes, fittings and flanges
- Wires
