Inconel Alloy 625

Common Trade Names: Inconel 625, Alloy 625, Nickel 625, Chornin 625, Altemp 625, Nickelvac 625, Haynes 625, NicroferŽ 6020

INCONEL alloy 625 is designated as UNS N06625, Werkstoff Number 2.4856 and ISO NW6625 is a nickel-based super alloy that possesses excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion in a broad range of environments. Additionally this alloy has outstanding strength and toughness at temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 2000°F. This alloy possesses a high degree of formability and shows better weldability than many other highly alloyed nickel based materials. Strength of INCONEL alloy 625 is derived from the stiffening effect of molybdenum and niobium on its nickel-chromium matrix; thus precipitation-hardening treatments are not required. This combination of elements also is responsible for superior resistance to a wide range of corrosive environments of unusual severity as well as to high-temperature effects such as oxidation and carburization.

Properties:
  • excellent fabricability (including joining)
  • provides a high level of pitting and crevice corrosion resistance to chloride contaminated media, such as sea water, neutral salts and brines.
Typical Applications:
  • Jet engine
  • Chemical processing equipment
Product Forms:
  • Sheets, Strips, Plates
  • Round Bars, Flat Bars, Hexagon
  • Pipes, tubes
  • Wires
