Invar designated as UNS K93600, UNS K93603 Werkstoff No. 1.3912 is a 36% nickel-iron alloy which has the lowest thermal expansion among all metals and alloys in the range from room temperature up to approximately 230°C.
Properties -
- The alloy is ductile
- Machinability is similar to austenitic stainless steel
- Easily weldable
- It does not suffer from stress corrosion cracking
